SNOW

snows for hours -
not as freezing as the night before -
just about a week ago I was riding the bike with no gloves around the east village.
I went to get a slice at Stromboli pizza at 3am, the winter is not coming this year - that is what I was thinking.
just say "it" and you know the opposite is due to happen.
henry street -
hard to walk
the snow plowing is lagging way behind -
kids outside the laundromat play with a shovel - more fun than a clear sidewalk.
been shooting photos for timeout London with cameraphone.
walk to tonic to see the shows I want to see -
mirror-dash Kim and Thurston.
hard to take pictures with the green - blue lights -
1 second exposure - too blurry - without a tripod and static subjects -
and the flash kills it unless you get really close.
magik markers -
first time i see them -
fucking great -
maybe I am just more relaxed - at least some knots
seem to get untangle.
there is mellow rage on stage -
the singer - shy minute calm seemingly person
turns into a fury -
a punk show and drones -
i wonder what can they sound on cd -
she jumps off
kicks the chairs
hugs and rolls on the floor kissing a surprised fan.
instinct innocence - it is good - it is cathartic
when usually so much I see is just too staged.I walk to the delancey - take a couple of pictures for the timeout thing.
next day -
hard to keep feet dry -
I crave a No 1 special Vietnamese sandwich -
from the deli on Broome and Mott.
I used to live right there, just around the block in a building that does not exist anymore.
$2.75 was the best deal for a fresh sandwich on a toasted baguette.
compared to the $7.95 for a cubano at habana.
i walk home to dry -
and well i feel sleepy - hibernating at 6 pm -
lazy.
Treva calls me - she is recording in town -
i havent seen her in years after she move to Arizona and California.
well 7 pm
I tell her at the pink pony.
if I did not have to take pictures I wouldnt even want to step out my bedroom.
it is good to see her -
remember the parties at Fun and Serena - I had just moved here - year 2000.
a different phase -
treva can read me -
after all these years -
and it is good -
cuz a lot has happened -
but some people can still be like a mirror
see what sometimes it is hard to see -
she tells me about the 2 conflicting sides.
she says similar concepts I just heard on the night before when I had to shoot this west village lounge.
there was no sign and a tarot reader in the window.
she offered me a free reading.
I wanted to tell her that I dont really believe in these things.
all these psychic reader storefronts in the city. how can they stay in business.
but what she tells me just makes sense - the past situations
-she has insight - and depth.
contradictions between the instinct and the intellect.
after all - I know already but it is good to hear.

it is so freezing outside -
treva did not choose a good time to start her bicoastal life.
we get a sweet cookie at hot bagels -
and well there is a lot to catch up -
the mutual friends.
she has her rough mixes on her ipod
and she wants me to listen.
"if you dont like them tell me you like them anyway!" she tells me with a smile.
I cant wait for her to give me a CD R with her songs.
in 2000 she seemed so wild in 2005 she seems so wise.
treva jumps in a cab.
there is a bike buried in snow.
I need to buy some boots.
